Building research skills

The Riddet Centre of Research of Excellence (CoRE) at Massey University has partnerships with the University of Auckland, Massey University, the University of Otago, AgResearch and Crop and Food Research.

New investment

Budget 2007-08 allocated $14 million over four years for research into new food and beverage ingredients and non-food biological technologies.  This research will help link technologies to businesses.

Encouraging commercialisation

Food and Beverage Product Development Infrastructure Project

This project will help regional food and beverage innovators to commercialise products by providing pilot-scale processing and production facilities.  More information on the Food and Beverage Taskforce on the Ministry of Economic Development website

Food and Beverage Roadmap

The directions signalled in the Future Foods TRST will be incorporated into the Food and Beverage Research Roadmap.
